Imperial is a Brand all by itself like DeSoto. You’re cheapening the name here with this list…..It’s not a Chrysler like a Newport or 300 or Cordoba. Imperial stands all by itself.
Not quite as clearcut as this. Imperial was just a big Chrysler through 1954 (I did a CC on a 53, so it is definitely a Chrysler Imperial). Also, anything after 1975 is clearly a Chrysler Imperial, so the ’81 is OK too. Between 1970 and 75 it gets kind of murky. But from 1955 to 1969-ish, I would agree. Which puts us into a club of about 1500 people nationwide who actually understand this. Our brand index is more about convenience (and needs to be manually updated) than about hyper-accuracy, though. I don’t think anyone looking for CCs on an Imperial will fail to find it in this index. 🙂
Imperial was its own make from 1955, that`s correct, but it was its own all the way trough 1975.
